It’s been an exciting and eventful week at Saint Peter School! We began the week with our first PTA meeting – outside on a beautiful evening – all were gathered for an informative night, and the golf cart winner was announced. This turned out to be a fantastic fundraiser by our PTA, which is the hardest working PTA around!! In addition, this week the PTA ran our Scholastic Book Fair and the children were thrilled to pick out some new books. Our new Athletic Directors, A. Hanley and J. Mullins are really rocking it and off to a great start. They planned a special Mass and reception for the blessing of our fall athletes, which is a wonderful way to kick off SPS Sports. Our kindergartners continued their special tradition of the VIP (Very Important Person) and the class was mesmerized by their classmate’s presentation. Mrs. Kimble’s second grade class celebrated Johnny Appleseed’s upcoming birthday with apple science experiments! Their favorite experiment was the apple volcano! Our third graders went to Jenkinson’s Aquarium for their first class on penguins this week and were so excited and inquisitive! Yesterday, we had a massive delivery of masks and hand sanitizer thanks to the joint efforts of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, Office of Emergency Management, and the Bible Baptist Church of New Egypt, which is a designated site to receive and distribute donations. We have more masks than we can possibly use and will be looking to help others who may need more supplies. Special thanks to Officer Tom DeFalcon, Mr. Mantz of the OEM, and Dominic from the Bible Baptist Church. I would also like to give special thanks to our own Point Pleasant Beach Police Officers who look after us each day and even make sure we get to and from the aquarium safe and sound! They’re amazing! Blessings — Mrs. Kobrin
