What a wonderful week with President’s Day, Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday and a Rah Rah!

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) started with a bang as our Kindergarteners paraded around the school making beautiful noise with their instruments, and Mrs. Baglivio made her famous pancakes for both staff and her students!

PreK 4 – Grade 2 had a special visit from Dentist, Dr. Little, and the Tooth Fairy! They enjoyed listening to the presentation and learned a lot about caring for their teeth!

The National Junior Honor Society service project, Pennies for Patriots, got underway to provide care packages to those who serve our country!

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent and our students received ashes as an outward sign of our faith and a reminder to “turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.” Lent is a special time of prayer, penance, sacrifice and good works in preparation for the celebration of Easter. Our students will also be participating in a variety of lessons and good works throughout the Lenten season and will take part in the Stations of the Cross.

Friday was a fabulous Rah Rah thanks to Mrs. Tancona and the Student Council. The students had an absolute blast during this fun, high energy relay race! Congratulations to the 2nd Grade for winning the Spirit Stick!

I hope that you will all be inspired during your own Lenten journey through prayer, Scripture, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts and minds to become closer to God.

Peace and blessings always, Mrs. Kobrin
