SAINTS DOMINATE IN 19–2 WIN OVER ST. LEO'S
The St. Peter School softball team delivered a commanding performance against St. Leo's on Tuesday, April 29, cruising to a 19–2 victory!
Isabella had an outstanding day at the plate, going 3-for-4 and driving in three runs. She helped fuel the Saints' explosive offense with a key single in the fourth inning and two more RBI singles in the same frame.
Alyssa was dominant on the mound, striking out 10 batters and allowing just three hits and two runs over four innings. Despite four walks, she kept the St. Leo's offense in check and also added a clutch triple in the fourth inning that brought in three runs.
The Saints wasted no time getting on the board in the top of the first, with Jocelyn driving in a run and Vayda singling to bring in two more. But it was the top of the fourth inning where the game truly broke open — the Saints scored 16 runs on nine hits, showcasing patience and power at the plate.
Highlights from the 4th inning rally included:
Cora and Abby each singling and drawing walks that drove in runs.
Vera added a hit and RBI.
Sofia drove in a run.
Alyssa's bases-clearing triple added the final blow.
Isabella contributed two more RBI singles.
St. Peter tallied 11 hits on the day. Alyssa, Jocelyn, and Isabella each notched three RBIs, while Vayda collected two hits and Kayla led the team with three walks. The Saints displayed excellent discipline, earning 10 walks overall.
Defensively, the Saints were flawless. They didn’t commit a single error.
To cap off the win, the team celebrated with well-deserved ice cream!
