The school has been full of hustle and bustle for the past two weeks with Advent activities and holiday cheer! Grades K-2 were surprised on Saint Nicholas Day with little treats in their shoes. The hallway was filled with joy and cheers.
PreK 3 – Grade 2 came to school in their cozy pajamas for Polar Express Day! They had a blast watching the movie in the gym and were treated to hot chocolate and popcorn. I LOVE serving the children hot chocolate and marshmallows each year!
Santa Shop was a big hit as students shopped for their family and friends. Many thanks to our PTA for making this such a special and fun event each year.
Our 8th Grade and 2nd Grade Prayer Partners got together for a cozy story time and hot chocolate treat. They absolutely loved hanging out together! It was a special sight to see.
Mrs. Bezerra, our school librarian, shared a video about how hot chocolate is made tracing it back to the cacao tree. Library classes enjoyed a hot cocoa treat!
PreK 4 is having so much fun making different Christmas crafts in class. Since they are learning the number five, they colored and glued five ornaments on a large number cutout. They also made trees spelling their first names and reviewed the different shapes used to create them.
As World Cup fever continues here at SPS, Grades 5-8 participated in their own World Cup challenge! Thank you to our Middle School teachers and Mr. Marco for organizing such a fun event and for the cooperative cross curricular work in Art and Library!
Third and Fourth Graders engaged in a STEM activity creating the tallest Christmas tree using toothpicks and candy. They designed, built, and revised and had some wonderful creations!
To end the week, the whole school participated in a Rah Rah planned by the Student Council. The Christmas Present Relay Races were a huge hit!! Our 1st Graders won the Spirit Stick for a month!!
And finally, the faculty and staff were treated to a beautiful Christmas Luncheon! We enjoyed great company, great food, and lots of fun. Thank you to our amazing PTA Board for planning this wonderful event for us. We are so appreciative!
